In medical books, there is no treatment for catarrh or coryza. The medicines prescribed by a doctor simply give you a feeling of relief but they do not shorten the duration of the disease. They suppress the disease temporarily but it appears again at any time. Coryza is marked by inflammation of the mucous membrane. It is not advisable to use inhalers or nasal drops to open up a blocked nose. It increases the blood pressure and there is a narrowing of blood vessels.

Coryza is a common problem. Given below are a few food items which can cure catarrh. If you are taking some other treatment, even then you can use them. An analysis of these items will show that treatment through food is easy and harmless.


Natural Home remedies for the treatment of Coryza

Simple home remedy for coryza using Orange : The patient should take orange juice with cold water in summer and hot water in winter. It is beneficial. Cut the peel of an orange into small pieces and boil it in a glass of water. When the water is reduced to half, strain and take it twice in the morning and evening. The orange peel can be dried in the Sun and stored for this purpose. Use it as and when required suffering from coryza and cough .

Good home remedy for coryza using Aniseed : Boil 15 gms. of aniseed and 7 cloves in ½ zlitre of water; when it is reduced to one-fourth drink it sip by sip after adding sugar or loaf sugar to it.

Effective home remedy for coryza using Coriander : Boil 125 gms. of Coriander powder in 1/2 litre of water. When the water is reduced to one-fourth quantity, strain it and mix 125 gms. sugar candy and heat it once again. When it thickens, lick 10 gms. of it every day. It will cure the catarrh caused by the weakness of the brain. It will also provide energy to the brain.

Homemade recipes for Coryza

Natural home remedy for coryza using Fig : Boil five figs in water, strain and drink the water twice daily in the morning and evening.

Herbal home remedy for coryza using Garlic : If the patient sneezes 5 to 7 times continuously, give him garlic to eat. It will provide relief from sneezing.

Herbal home remedy for coryza using Maize: Burn a cob of maize and grind it into powder. Add salt to taste. Take 1/2 tsp. four times daily with hot water. It will be beneficial.

Traditional natural home remedy for coryza using Milk : Put 5 pieces of long pepper in milk and boil it. Add sugar and drink it twice daily in the morning and evening.

Effective home remedy for coryza using Carrots : Mix 310 ml. of carrot Juice and 125 ml. of spinach juice and drink it. It will provide relief from cold and coryza.

How to get rid of coryza - Getting rid of coryza

Simple home remedy for coryza using Turmeric : (1) If you have the problem of mucous because of Coryza or asthma, take a tsp. of turmeric powder thrice daily with hot water.

(2) Inhaling the fumes of turmeric acts as an expectorant of Kafa.

(3) Mix the powder of 10 black pepper corns and ½ tsp. of turmeric powder in a cup of hot milk and drink it. It is beneficial in catarrh and fever.

Herbal home Remedies For Coryza

Good home remedy for coryza using Salt : Grind one part o( rock salt with four parts of sugar. Take ½ tsp. of it thrice a day with hot milk. It will cure catarrh.

Effective home remedy for coryza using Lemon : Drinking lemon juice in lukewarm water cures coryza. If the problem is severe, squeeze a lemon in a glass of boiling hot water, mix honey and drink at night.

Natural home remedy for coryza using Mausambi : Those who suffer from frequent attacks of catarrh and coryza, they can get relief by taking mausambi juice for some days.

Diet tips for Coryza

Tea : If the catarrh is because of cold, there is sneezing and secretion from the eyes and the nose, taking tea will be helpful. It gives warmth and causes sweating. In this way it provides relief from cold. If the catarrh is dry and the mucous is thick, yellow and foul swelling and if there is headache and sinusitis, taking tea is harmful.

Apple : Catarrh is common among persons with a weak brain. Such people do not benefit from medicines. Such persons should eat an apple without peeling it before meals. It will provide strength to the brain.

Amla : People suffering from frequent attacks of catarrh should use amla regularly.

Grapes : Eating at least 50 gms. of grapes daily prevents the occurrence of catarrh.

Betel leaf : Eating a betel leaf with a clove is beneficial in catarrh.

Mulberry : It is beneficial for patients suffering from catarrh and throat ailments.
