Vitamin for Dry Skin

Vitamin A is required for night vision, and for a healthy skin.

For cracked, dry skin on the fingers, use calendula cream or oil with comfrey, vitamin E oil, and aloe vera. Apply the mixture to hands at bedtime, then wear plastic gloves overnight.

Vitamin A. Retinol and retinyl palmitate are forms of vitamin A that may be converted in the skin into retinoic acid, the active ingredient in the prescription creams Retin-A, Renova and Tazorac. Retinoic acid helps keep pores clear and has been shown to improve some of the damage caused by sun exposure. The skin tends to look dry if Vitamin A and Vitamin B are deficient.

Fair people are especially in need of vitamins for dry skin prevention and one such vitamin that they're usually lacking is Vitamin B.

Poor diet. Nutritional deficiencies, especially deficiencies of vitamin A and the B vitamins, can also contribute to dry skin.

Vitamins such as C and E can help protect and repair skin exposed to pollutants and UV rays.

Dry skin tends to look dull due to lack of Vitamin E in the skin. This can be taken care of by using the lotions that are rich in vitamin E. This produces a glowing and healthy skin.

Color and appearance, in general, is the main focus of Vitamin D.

Cantaloupes, carrots and apricots are heating foods for dry skin because they are rich in the vitamins A and C, both important for a supple, smooth skin.

tip of the day

Beef supplies many important nutrients, such as protein, B vitamins, iron and zinc. Certain cuts of beef are leaner than others. When shopping for lower fat cuts, look for the words round or loin in the name: eye of round, top round steak, top round roast, sirloin steak, top loin steak or tenderloin steak.
