Studies show that the vitamins C, E, A, K, and B complex all help improve skin health and appearance. A number of studies reveal that certain vitamins and minerals, when taken internally, can positively influence skin appearance, beauty, and a woman's overall health.

It had long been recognized that vitamins play a major role in maintaining skin health, because they act fabulously on the skin surface, thus paving way for achieving healthy rich glowing skin.

Vitamins Good for Skin Nutrition

Vitamin E - According to studies published by the AAD, taking 400 units of vitamin E daily appeared to reduce the risk of sun damage to cells as well as reduce the production of cancer-causing cells.

Vitamin C- It works by reducing the damage caused by free radicals, a harmful byproduct of sunlight, smoke, and pollution. Using a Vitamin C formulation for eight to twelve weeks can gradually show a difference in the appearance of your skin. Your skin may become firmer, smoother and lines can become less prevalent. However, if you already have premature aging skin, the results may not be as effective.

Vitamin A is a potent fat-soluble vitamin, easily stored in our body tissue. It is wise not to supplement your diet with Vitamin A pills. Instead, focus on the delicious tastes of those fruits and vegetables high in carotene for a safe way to healthy skin.

Vitamin B2 is good for skin and can be found in milk, liver, yeast, cheese, fish, and green leafy vegetables.

Vitamin B6 is good for preventing skin conditions and can be found in fish, bananas, chicken, pork, whole grains, and dried beans. Also good for healthy skin is vitamin B3, found in meat, fish, pulses, wholegrains, and nuts, and vitamin B8 found in nuts, seeds, beans, whole grains, and citrus fruits.

B12 (cyancobalamine) is essential for a variety of synthetic processes in the cells. The deficiency of this vitamin is particularly detrimental to neurons and rapidly dividing cells, including skin cells.
